Our day care still keeps the records up until age 4 when they go to the preK room. My daughter's been there for over a year and I still miss those daily reports -- not so much for the poop details but the NAP! I want to know if she slept, when & how long. Denied.

I've never been one to worry about whether or not they had pooped. Why do you want to know? My babysitter (grandma-in-law) used to give me poop scoops every time I'd pick the kids up and I'd just smile and nod. Y'all are better mommies than me!

And I am so jealous that your almost 2 year old can drink from a cup! I haven't even attempted to teach my 26 month old. Yikes!

We still keep a food/diaper/sleep log, even though Q is almost 2. It's kinda overkill, but we've decided to keep doing for a while longer, since it convenient for communication with our nanny. The poop knowledge - very useful. Not sure how I would adjust to not knowing yet. Good luck!

Ha! "Lack of poop knowledge"

Who would have thought it would ever be a concern of ours, right?

Love it! "He just cruised by and I think I have an answer." Too true, too true.

Cream cheese sandwiches, brilliant! Gotta' try that.

Funny how different people have different takes on the poop scoop. When the kids are at my moms, I get an update. When they're at my husband's parents, nothing.

lol...the truth reveals itself eventually.

And those cream cheese sandwiches are the bomb. My daughter is allergic to peanuts so we do cream cheese with strawberry jam fairly often.

I can relate - I don't want to have to do the changing, but I want to know what's happening. Hard not to get so involved in the little details.

Me, I'd say "poopy diaper" to the pope with no qualms :) It's kind of fun and liberating. My daughter loves saying "poop," too. You should see her make her little mouth into an "o" and squeak out "poop!" Or, its latest derivation, "poopie!" It really is incredibly cute.

Anyway, I understand your feelings on this. I'm glad, at least, that your son helped clear the air just now on the poop status issue ;)

Oh, I always want to know the details about day care too. We have menu and it tells us the daily entree, but often, it will say "fruit in season" or "green vegetable." I make them write down on the sheet what it is. I want to know! If he's eating green beans at school, but not at home, that's valuable information.
